| Piracy Free |

Since I installed Windows XP Pro, I've decided to try to go totally legit, not installing any pirated software. That means no Visual C++ and no Microsoft Office.
For now, I'm using the free MS VC++ compiler. It works fine for building my C extensions, but I miss the visual environment for those times I just want to tinker in pure C. Sometimes I need the GUI debugger to see just what the heck is going on. I need to get on the Eclipse/CDT folks. As it stands now, some parts of it (i.e. the error parser and debugger) are only designed to work with cygwin/gcc.
To replace MS Office I'm using OpenOffice. It's ok, but not great, and sometimes annoys me to tears. But, hey, it's free. |
